In the movie Mortal Engines 3D SBS, humanity is no longer the same as before. After the Apocalypse of the world thousands of years passed before people have adapted to a new life. There are different laws in this world now. Megacities no longer stand still, but literally hover above the ground. To obtain the necessary resources, they absorb smaller settlements, but this hardly promises anything good for the future of humanity.
