The United Kingdom stands as one of the last functioning societies, having turned into a police state to manage the influx of refugees seeking asylum.The story follows Theo Faron, a disillusioned bureaucrat and former activist, who becomes the unlikely protector of the planet’s last hope for a future generation. Theo is drawn into a perilous journey when he is asked to help Kee, a refugee who is miraculously pregnant, reach a sanctuary at sea. As they navigate through a chaotic world rife with violence and despair, Theo confronts his past and the realities of the present in a desperate bid to safeguard Kee and the continuity of the human race.
